Apple quality control not so good

Apples new 27 inch Core i7 iMac has been getting a lot of attention from the public, due to the high resolution screen, competitive price and powerful Intel hardware. Unfortunately reports have reached us that some users have been receiving machines dead on arrival and others with cracked screens. Engadget even reported that their quad core Intel machine wouldn’t even boot when it was taken out of the box.

One of the DriverHeaven readers emailed me today to say “My machine arrived and the machine made the familar Mac chiming sound, but I couldn’t get any image out of the screen at all, I can’t believe it!”. Other users on Apples official support forum have been complaining that they have had to return their iMac and are being told it could be several weeks before they will get a replacement.

As well as the DOA and dead screens another issue has been reported – cracks have appeared at the bottom left side of the screen. There is a theory that this might be due to the packaging used and the weight of the unit during rough transportation.
