DFI are to release a new, power efficient P45 motherboard which is a rather unique and interesting concept.
This hybrid board features the Intel P45 chipset coupled with Nvidia’s ION, so users get two platforms for the price of one (well not really, but more on that later). The board features a KVM and Lan switch on board allowing you to utilise a single monitor, keyboard and mouse. This allows the end user to save money and cut back on performance by switching to the ION platform – total savings are 65% according to DFI’s testing.
People will need to dig deep however for this concept idea as the board is set to retail at around the $400 price point meaning it will certainly only appeal to a niche audience.
