For better or worse Twitter has taken over the social networking world, a lot of people do it and some people are so addicted to sharing every intimate moment of their lives that a company is even developing a 3G based gadget you can carry about to tweet whenever you desire.

Do you ever want to know who is publishing the best tweets online or how good your own are? Then fear no more because a new public relations consultancy called Edelman have released Tweetlevel, a free tool that measures the importance of you when compared with everyone else. This tool ascertains how trusted they are as well as the influence they wield.

This tool uses an algorithm made by Edelman which judges the quality and quantity of the tweets or micro blogs of up to 140 characters and then allows the user to work out their own importance to someone else they follow.

“Unlike most rankings that look merely at the number of followers someone has, TweetLevel gives you a really clear picture of who is important within this increasingly influential forum,” said Jonny Bentwood, Edelman’s Head of Strategic Analysis.

The tool splits the overall score into four categories. How many people follow you, how many listen to what you say, how actively you participate and whether people believe you. Your final score is then ranked out of 100 and the higher it is, the bigger birdie epenis you have.
