Nesteq ASM XZero 500W PSU

Today we are going to have a look at a product from Nesteq a German computer products designer, the ASM Xzero 500W power supply. What makes the Xzero unique is that although it has a cooling fan it only uses it when the internal temperature rises above a certain temperature, making it what we would call a semi-passive running unit. It also ships with a variety of distinct features which we will analyse thoroughly in our review today.

Packaging and Bundle

Nesteq supplies the Xzero unit in a well designed, sturdy cardboard box. A picture of the unit itself can be found at the front of the box, while detailed information about the electrical specifications and the features of the unit cover the rear and sides. The front can be opened, revealing a small part of the unit itself through a plastic window and even more information on the unit’s cables and features. Within the box everything is very well secured with cardboard pieces and the unit itself is wrapped in a nylon bag.

With the ASM Xzero 500W unit you will receive a manual, a typical AC power cable, four black mounting screws, some regular black cable ties, a few connector caps and a jump-start adaptor which can be used to turn on the unit even if it isn’t installed to a system. You will also find a pouch with all of the modular cables supplied.
