Final Words and Conclusion

The quality of the Akasa Freedom Force GFX cooler is good but it could be improved. The body of the cooler is very well made with the copper and aluminum parts very well mated together. The aluminum fins are not welded on the heatpipes but the mechanical cohesion of the cooler remains good. Even though the base is not machined down to a mirror finish (which would be next to impossible with two different materials anyway), it is very well made and smooth to the touch. Akasa could improve the quality of the two 80mm fans because the motors tend to vibrate slightly when placed upside down.

The cooler is easy to install on any modern graphics card and its large size should not become a problem inside any normal ATX case however it will still block at least two expansion slots beneath the card. If planning to use two of these coolers for an SLI/Crossfire configuration there is little chance there will be room to install any other PCI/PCIe cards.

The price to performance ratio which the Freedom Force GFX cooler offers is reasonable. The cooler performs very well and it also can be installed on the majority of video cards released in the last few years but the flexibility does come with a small premium.

Summary
Akasa designed the Freedom Force for hardcore overclockers and performance enthusiasts. It will not disappoint those users as it combines excellent thermal performance with great acoustics and an easy install. Therefore we recommend this cooler but it may be a little expensive for some.
