Firefox aiming for mobile launch

Product image

Mozilla, the well known company behind the briliant web browser Firefox have announced that Firefox is going to be available for the Nokia N9000 handset very shortly. The beta version is already released but Mozilla has informed the media that the launch of the offical firefox for mobile ‘codenamed Fennec’ is only a few days away.

The most popular mobile phone web browser right now is Opera, so the challenge from Mozilla will be interesting to watch over the coming months.

There is a video released which details some of the key points:

  • Add-ons to make your browser your own
  • Tabs that let you browse multiple sites at once
  • One-touch bookmarking to quickly organize websites
  • The Awesome Bar searches your history, bookmarks and tags to go to your favorite sites instantly
  • Share your Firefox preferences, history, and bookmarks between your desktop and mobile
