Popular Review Links: launches launches

Hands up if you have ever gotten irritated with youtube for taking down video content, just as you are passing it around between your buddies. A new site has launched today to bypass all these issues  …. they get content directly from various studios across the globe. This means they will never have to remove content due to breach of copyright.

Right now Movieclips are working with 20th Century Fox, MGM, Paramount, Sony pictures, Universal Studios and Warner Brothers and while the site has to pay for these licensing agreements they are making the money back on advertising.

At this point in time there are over 12,000 clips on offer with most being around 2-3 minutes long and you can share them with friends and family with support via Digg, Facebook and Twitter. They even allow you to comment on videos and interact with other users.

“ was created by movie fans for movie fans,” said Co-Founder and CEO Zach James. “Our goal was to build a place where we could easily find, watch, and share all the best movie scenes. Our content partners are incredible. They made it possible for us to build the greatest collection of licensed movie clips online today. It’s pretty cool to be able to send a clip from Sixteen Candles to my sister on her birthday or a Wayne’s World ‘Party on!’ clip to my friends on a Friday night.”

Currently the site is only operating inside the USA and Canada so if you are in Europe or the UK (or anywhere else) you won’t be able to view the content but if you want to check it out, head over here.
