Packard Bell recall batteries

Packard Bell are the latest in a long line of Laptop manufacturers to suffer from battery issues … Dell and Acer had some overheating issues last year.

Packard Bell have recalled a series of batteries from machines manufactured between July and December 2007 which were sold mainly in Europe. The models are: Easynote MX36, MX37, MX51 and MX52 and by calling 0871 467 0008 you can find out if yours is affected.

Packard Bell stated : “The battery cells contained in the affected units may experience internal short circuits which can potentially cause the cells to overheating and/or catch fire. There is no risk of electrocution to the user.  There have been no reports of injuries.”

Best not being the first ‘report’, so give them a call if you own one of those machines.
