Akasa Freedom Tower CPU Cooler – Installation

Despite the use of lightweight materials, due to its size, the Freedom Tower is a relatively heavy cooler and simple plastic retention pins would not be enough to securely attach it on any motherboard. Therefore Akasa opted for a far stronger retention mechanism using backplates and screws instead. The installation of the cooler is simple but must be performed outside the case, unless the chassis has a cutout in the motherboard tray. With the backplate in place we unclip the fan and shroud from the heatsink, screw the cooler in place and reattach the fan.

The Freedom Tower will dominate the area around the CPU and despite its massive size the main body of the cooler is high enough above the CPU area that even the largest motherboard cooling configurations should not cause any issues.
