Indy Cars have been confirmed for an appearance in Gran Turismo 5, Sony’s much anticipated racer for the PS3. It has also been confirmed that the game will include realistic weather and night racing on all tracks.
For those of a tin-top variety, the game will also feature NASCAR cars and tracks, although it doesn’t specify if this will include all or some of the grid line up. The game will feature over 1000 vehicles of various guise including fully modelled and detailed cockpits, some even featuring interior damage modelling if you start hitting the walls.
Multiplayer support is also in and will feature up to 16 players in a race online and further support for the online community will allow players to upload high definition video replays directly to YouTube.

Gran Turismo 5 isn’t released until 3rd Quarter 2010, however there was an internet rumour doing the rounds recently which said it could be released as early as March this year.
