The new year brings with it a new all format chart from ELSPA, although little changed over the holiday period with multi million seller Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 continuing where it left off in 2009.
The first person shooter dominated the latter part of 2009 and looks set to continue that, well in to 2010. Whilst Activision will be pleased with their chart topper’s continuing domination over the festive period, Nintendo will also be happy with their form thanks to 5 titles in the top 9 places, including 3 related to Mario Brothers and 4 published by their own team.
FIFA10 was the biggest loser in the festive period, falling 4 places to number 6. There were 3 new entries on the all format chart this week including much hyped and advertised Uncharted 2, yet despite massive TV advertising it popped in to the chart at an uninspiring number 15. It was however, the highest new entry of the three, with Batman in at 16 and Tekken 6 popping back in at number 20.
The only other point of interest came in the form of Acitvisions previous Call of duty instalment, the original Modern Warfare which came back in to the chart before Christmas and then rose a further 5 places to number 13 over the holiday period.
