Simulators galore!

Simulators galore!

It has been a bit of a simulator day here at Gaming Heaven with news reaching us of not one, not two, but three new simulators! Rather than bombard you with three individual news posts about them, we thought we would be kind and lump them all together.

First up is the less silly of the three, Ship simulator, although the game has been out for some time, it is being treated to many weekly updates and this week is no different.

Continuing its weekly release of free download packs for Ship Simulator 2008, game developer VSTEP announces that the Sailing Boat Super Pack, the twelfth free download pack for Ship Simulator 2008 is now available for download at The Shipyard, the online vessel & environment shop for Ship Simulator 2008.

All Ship Simulator 2008 users will be able to download this new add-on pack for free and take to the water in a completely new player vessel, the Sailing Boat. With this vessel comes new gameplay features and a host of exciting new missions specifically created for this add-on. The Sailing Boat Super Pack is created by the dedicated Ship Simulator Creator’s Forum.

Our second Sim of the day is German Truck Simulator. Not the most inspiring title perhaps although fans of simulators might enjoy this one. Get behind the wheel of trucks inspired by real designs from 7 major European truck manufacturers, including official license from MAN, the release says. Some of the other features are also listed in the press release including cargo deliveries between 18 different German cities, 60 different loads, buy your own truck and purchase garages and setup branch offices.

If that doesnt suit you, how about our final offering, Fork Lift Truck Simulator. Yes, thats right, the real world can almost be simulated by anything these days, including the gloomy interior of a warehouse.

Excalibur Publishing Ltd invites players to get behind the controls of a forklift truck from the comfort of their own computer. As of January 2010 you will be able to slip into the role of a forklift truck driver and carry out a number of different tasks.

Your task is to master a range of jobs in varying environments and difficulties. Load and unload lorries and train carriages against the clock and store goods on different height shelves in warehouses. You will be working on original STILL forklift trucks of which the attention to detail will be appreciated by any forklift truck enthusiast.

To make the experience a bit more realistic you begin in a training mode to learn your controls and achieve your license in order to continue to the missions. There is also a free play mode which allows you to drive freely and choose where to go and what to do with the goods.

Robert Stallibrass of Excalibur Publishing says: We are delighted to add Forklift Truck to our range of Simulators. The developers at Astragon have a great sense of detail and have worked hard to make this experience as realistic as possible.

We will leave you to be the judge of these fine titles, so feel free to let us know what you will be using to crash in to this evening.
