One of the most popular RPG’s in Japan, Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies, will receive a release in Europe.
The announcement comes after it was revealed that it would be given a Summer release in the US and that date is likely to be replicated in Europe as well.
In Japan they have been playing the game since last Summer. The Nintendo DS based RPG has been heralded as one of the best in the genre and has sold 4.15 million copies to date.
With other popular Japanese RPGs all too often not released in the West for reasons of cultural differences, the decision to support this title abroad will be welcomed by fans of JRPGs. With announcements that other titles such as Monster Hunter may well follow suit soon it could be the start of a wave of such titles finally being made available in the West.
