Microsoft has been given permission to take down a notorious spambot network that targetted Hotmail users.
Legally Microsoft has been given the go ahead to take down a major spambot network that has been a major pest for many Hotmail users with the spread of malware.
“At Microsoft, we don’t accept the idea that botnets are a fact of life. We are a founding member of the Botnet Task Force, a public-private partnership to join industry and government in the fight against bots. Given the recent spread of botnets, we are getting even more creative and aggressive in the fight against botnets and all forms of cybercrime.”
If you think you are infected by Waledac or other evil malware, head on over to Microsoft’s Malicious Software Removal Tool and get your Windows based PC detoxified – for about 21 hours 32 minutes and 15 seconds anyway.
