SKATE 3, the third game in the EA Black Box skateboarding series, will feature some settings new to players. The first trailer showing off these has been released today and acts as a skating tourist guide for Port Caverton’s industrial complex.
Given that the tagline for the game is “Team Up. Throw Down.” The focus is likely going to be not only on multiplayer but also the forming of skating crews competing against each other, which represents a new focus within the games history.
It seems the developers will also be including difficulty levels within the game for the first time, the control method and learning curve proving to be incredibly steep. This will make the game more accessible to newcomers, but might risk ticking off the veterans from the previous two games.
With Port Caverton being a new destination for skaters and a more obscure location in general, the trailer is designed to help give players ideas and and understanding of which parts will give them the most scope for the best trick runs. The game looks the most visually impressive in the series yet and players have until May this year to brush up on their technique.
SKATE 3 is set for release on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
