Atlus have announced that their upcoming “medical entertainment” game Trauma Team will be hit with delays and not meet its proposed Arpil 20th release date. Instead it is likely it will be released on May 18th.
The previous Trauma Center series of games were seen as a something of a revelation on the Wii, inviting players to perform surgery on ailing patients using the Wii remote to simulate their movements. This latest edition will focus more on the entire medical team, not just surgeons, enabling players to diagnosis patients, investigate Orthopedics, perform exploratory operations such as an endoscopy and even autopsies on the deceased.
A new trailer of the game has been issued to ease the pain of waiting for fans of the series and the Manager of Public Relations & Sales from Atlus, Aram Jabbari, issued a statement alongside it:
“Until watching this new video, a lot of Trauma Team fans may have a slightly disjointed notion of what the Orthopedics mode is all about. Without a tool wheel to concern oneself with, nor a ticking clock to race against, Orthopedics is about patience and precision. Even if you think you’re up to the task, it’s advised that you bone up on what this video has to offer prior to the game’s new May 18th release date.”
Puns aside, it promises to be a huge step forward in the series.
