Excellent reading for the weekend, Intel have finally released the i7-980X processor based on the Nehalem technology coming with 6 processors and capable of handling 12 threads in total. Also in the same review we have Gigabyte’s new X58A motherboard to complement the new Intel processor. “When fully utilised by an application, such as Cinebench, the 980X offers a level of performance which is noticeably faster than the previous high end model, the i7-975. This performance increase carries over into real world tests such as Adobe Media Encoder which ensures that content creation professionals or enthusiasts will benefit from the new processor.” Source: Hardware Heaven Share On
