Samsung 3D Glasses Expensive

Product imageIT Pro Portal has had a look at the new 55 inch Samsung 3D LED LCD TV that is now on sale and finds 3D glasses are not included.

Unfortunately they were not impressed with the Samsung branded 3D glasses that are needed with the set for it to work in all its glory for a few reasons:

“[The Samsung 3D glasses] require a CR2025 battery, may have an adverse effect on brightness and contrast calibration and fit most adults but not children. Therefore, if you have a family of four, you will need to spend at least $600 to get everyone to see 3D content as it is meant to be.”

The TV itself is retailing for over $3000 (£1955), from, you would think that a single pair of glasses would be included with the TV set. Also the way the glasses work and lack of standards may mean that a particular brand of 3D glasses may not universally work with other 3D TV’s from other manufacturers.

As always it is the early adopters that will sort out the teething problems and stump up the cash for the initial exorbitant prices.
