If you thought the first game wasn’t dark enough, then you may enjoy the sequel to Arkham Asylum. According to the voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy, the game will be “really, really dark”.
Speaking in an interview at the Chicago Comics & Entertainment expo, he revealed as much as he could about the upcoming games content. He was even tricked into revealing one or two details he maybe shouldn’t have, not least of all that Two-Face will feature in the game. He attempted to cover the statement by adding:
“There’s a very complicated cast; a lot of villains are in it. I’ll just leave it at that!”
In addition to Two Face, you can expect the return of The Joker and Harley Quinn.
Interestingly enough the interview also revealed that Mark Hamill, who voiced The Joker in the award winning animated series, was not first choice to voice The Joker in the game. Tim Curry had been sought out for the part, but supposedly delivered a performance so terrifying that Warner were worried that it would put the audience off. Hamill got the call shortly after.
“Mark is psychotic with a smile. Tim was just psychotic to give you nightmares,” explained Conroy.
And just in case there was no controversy in the interview Conroy also said that Christian Bale’s voice in the movies was “ridiculous” and he should have been told so by those making the movie. Will Bale respond? And if he does, will he do in the voice? Arkham Asylum 2 has no official release date as of yet.
