Flash Development for iPhone Ends

Flash Development for iPhone Ends

After months of a war of words Apple and Adobe decide they won’t play nice again.

Google has welcomed Adobe with both arms to develop for Google’s Android OS but it seems that Apple’s tough stance with Adobe in recent months has finally had the desired result and Adobe will no longer be developing Flash for the iPhone.

Apple are concentrating their efforts on new standards such as HTML5 claiming that Flash was a CPU hog – a claim disproven by others as Flash has hardware acceleration in its latest release. Flash is also used for many online games such as the incredibly popular FarmVille but it has been known to be buggy and possibly full of security holes as claimed by security experts.

It doesn’t seem likely the decision to stop development of Flash on the iPhone will be a major issue for Apple in the long term but at this time the majority of video content on the internet is Flash based.
