Palm, maker of the Pre and other seminal phones of the past has found a buyer in the form of HP.
Palm released the Pre earlier this year and announced this was a make or break phone for the company. Despite stellar reviews it simply could not compete with the likes of the new Android phones and the Apple iPhone. HP have decided that they may be entering the mobile phone market once again and have put in a proposal to buy the Palm outfit.
For $1.2 billion many analysts believe HP are getting a bargain and one of the major reasons for the purchase is the WebOS developed by Palm for mobile phones which has received good reviews in the press. The purchase and exchange is expected to be completed by July 31 2010.
