South Korea has the highest rate of online gamers anywhere in the world proportion to its population.
The government there initially promoted the idea of using the internet for many household chores, for instance supermarket shopping. However the reliance on technology has meant that some people have become addicted to online gaming to a detrimental effect.
To put a stem to the ever-increasing issues with gamers addicted to their online fix South Korea have implemented a curfew for gamers limiting the amount of access they have to certain popular online games in the country.
The Korea Herald claims regulations mean gamers will have to opt for either 12am to 6am, 1am to 7am or 2am to 8am – applying to primary school and secondary school students.
