The might Apple has stated it is not scared of the threat of Android in the mobile market space.
“This is a very limited report on 150,000 U.S. consumers responding to an online survey and does not account for the more than 85 million iPhone and iPod touch customers worldwide,” said Apple spokeswoman Natalie Harrison.
Which is true but the survey was US specific and should be quite accurate for the current state of play in the US market. however Natalie went on.
“We had a record quarter with iPhone sales growing by 131 percent and with our new iPhone OS 4.0 software coming this summer, we see no signs of the competition catching up any time soon,” Harrison said.
Apple have had to respond to calls for multi-tasking due to competition in the market space from other mobile OS’s and consumer demand and it looks like the competition is hotting up for Apple. After too many years of almost zero competition for the iPhone it is refreshing to see competitors are “not catching up any time soon” but still require a response from Apple PR when figures show otherwise.
