GTX 400 series Ramping Up Nicely

JPR reports that the NVIDIA “Fermi” based are ramping up well and have shipped over 400,000 units so far.

This is good news for NVIDIA that has had a poor start to the DirectX 11 with its deleyed 3 billion transistor monster coming approximately 6 months late to market.

The analyst at Jon Peddie Research, Jon Peddie, was using estimates for his figure to proclaim that yield issues for NVIDIA were behind them, at the cost of disabling units on the graphics processor, from 512 to 480 for the top end card and lower for other models.

Does this mean we may see a 512 unit version in the future? At this point it seems unlikely.
