The next-gen version of Silent Hill has been on display at E3 and reports are it’s looking as creepy as ever. A trailer was shown, containing game footage and cut scenes, that outlined some of the story players can expect.
It seems that players will be in the role of a fugitive being transported to prison. Cue some flashbacks to an Alan Wake like forest chase involving a female police officer. After the chase ends the prisoner finds himself in the eponymous town only to be greeted by an elderly man who asks “first time visitor, huh?”
The atmosphere of the original looks to have been retained, not least of all thanks to a disappearing creepy little girl.
Konami’s Brian Gomez was quoted as saying that this Silent Hill was “Unlike all others before it, while pushing the envelope of Silent Hill games.” he also promised “Disturbing creatures, mind boggling psychology and evolving core combat while staying true to key elements of terror.”
The game will be out next year on both PS3 and Xbox 360.
