After rumours started circulating about the content of the new Total war game it has now been confirmed as a sequel to the one that kick-started the series. Shogun 2: Total War will be released on PC sometime in 2011.
Confirmation of the SEGA game came from a leaked fact sheet, which contained details about the single player campaign, although the multiplayer has still to be revealed.
The game will be smaller in scale than other incarnations with a unit roster trimmed down from hundreds to about 30 – 40. Factions have been cut down to eight Japanese warlords.
Naval combat will also feature, a first for this time era, bringing it in line with the more recent titles.
