Dell Inspiron Zino HD 410 Review

Power / Temperature / Noise and Overclocking

To give a complete overview of the Zino HD 410 we have taken readings from the system when it comes to temperatures, noise and power use.

For power and noise readings the entire use of the system is measured at the wall. Noise levels were taken using a professional decibel meter at ear height with the system on our desk. Temperature readings were taken using RealTemp and Aida64 along with an infra-red thermometer.

Before taking the idle readings for the system it was left unused at the desktop for 30 minutes. Load results were taken 30 minutes into full load test using software such as Prime95 an Furmark.

  Idle Load
CPU 58°C 75°C
GPU 60°C 73°C
PCH 60°C 74°C
HD 43°C 44°C
Exhaust Temp 41.6°C 44.9°C
Power Use 36w 74w
Noise 41.88dBA 43.6dBA

The first thing we need to say about the Zino HD 410 is that Dell have clearly set the system to favour low noise over low temperatures. Regardless of the load applied to the system it remained very quiet at all times, near silent most of the time. Even with these low noise levels the temperatures were reasonable, sitting in the low 70’s when full load was applied to CPU and GPU at the same time to force a worst case scenario.

Power use was also very good on the Zino HD 410, never rising above 74w and staying well within the 90w rating of the PSU.
