The XFX Pro Series (Core Edition) PSUs all share an identical design which itself looks very similar to the one used on the Black Edition products. We have a rugged casing which features the family branding on the base and sides with the various models being specified on the stickers.

In terms of dimensions these PSUs measure 170x150x86mm and weigh approximately 2.7kg.

Cool air is drawn in through the fan grill on the PSU, passing across the internal components before being exhausted out of the perforated back. This surface features the 3-pin mains input, a small rocker switch and the XFX logo. Interestingly XFX use square holes rather than the hexagonal design which seems to be fashionable at the moment.

The PSUs being tested today are all fully wired models and each of the wires have braided sleeves, running right up to the last centimetre or so before connectors. They are sealed with rubber at the end and these sections are held in place by glue. XFX use a 60cm wire for the main 24-pin motherboard connector and PCIe cables. The 8-pin CPU power plug gets an extra 2cm on top of this which will help with routing around the back of motherboard trays. In terms of actual connectors, the three models being reviewed today are very similar. The 650w and 750w have the same layout, the 850w adds an additional three SATA connectors.
