Call of Duty: Black Ops – DirectX 9

Call of Duty Black Ops was released in the final quarter of 2010 and we took an initial look at performance in our GTX 580 articles. Now with a little more game time under our belts and a demanding section of gameplay located we have more complete performance figures for this best-selling title.

Testing was performed at 1920×1080 with 4x anti-aliasing and maximum in-game settings.

When playing Call of Duty: Black Ops we get to see for the first time the impact of PowerColors enhancements on the performance of the 6950. Looking at the comparison with a standard model there is a clear increase in performance as the PCS++ scores an average of 5 frames per second more. This takes it into the territory of a 6870 with that card only 1fps faster than PowerColors.
