3DMark 11 Professional / Heaven Benchmark – DirectX 11

Futuremark recently released 3DMark 11 so we thought to start the comparisons for this review we would run the cards through a benchmark using the application. We set the program to use the Extreme profile and these are the results we obtained.

Benchmark Results

Another recent release is the Unigine Heaven 2.5 benchmark and again we have run the cards though this. We tested at 1920×1080 with 4x anti-aliasing, 16x anisotropic filtering and Extreme Tessellation.

Benchmark Results

In this first batch of tests we get to see the difference that well optimised drivers can make. Looking at 3DMark first NVIDIA have their quad GPU scaling working very well and this allows it to pull ahead of the AMD card which actually ran faster when we looked at the dual GPU performance of each card.

Moving to the Heaven benchmark the opposite is true. With 2 GPUs NVIDIA win, when we move to 4, for the moment, it is AMD that is fastest.
