Razer announces Electra headphones

Product image

Razer has a tendency to announce products well before they are scheduled for release. Their latest product is no exception. A few days ago the PC gaming peripheral maker revealed plans to ship the Razer Electra, a new gaming headset that will be made available for sale in October. The headset will have some “enhanced bass response” that’s helped out with some optimized drivers in each ear cup.
The Electra also has “leatherette ear cushions” and ear cups that help to block out outside sounds along with a flexible headband and an inline microphone for chatting with friends while you join a dungeon raid, shooting to get more XP and more.  Razer is promoting the headphones as great for both gaming and listening to music, with founder Robert Krakoff saying, “The Razer Electra was designed to be the gamer’s trusty audio sidekick, powering their favorite songs and intensifying mobile games with deeper bass and richer sounds.” The price of the Electra will be $59.99.
Razer is going to be very busy this year. It’s already announced plans to release branded gaming PC mice, keyboards and other products for two upcoming and major games from Electronic Arts, Battlefield 3 and Star Wars The Old Republic. It also is still promoting its Switchblade portable gaming PC concept. Recently the company announced that the design concept will have the latest version of Intels’s Atom processor running inside. However there’s still no word on when the Switchblade will turn into a full fledged product.
