Batman Arkham City – DirectX 11

Arkham City was tested at 1920×1080/5760×1080 with FXAA, 16xAF and all other settings at their maximum. The NVIDIA card had PhysX on high, AMD PhysX was off.

We very much believe that PhysX, when done right, offers some great enhancements to the gaming experience and Batman: Arkham City is an example of the technology working well. With advanced cloth and particle effects the NVIDIA version of the game looks much better than on AMD. Therefore we feel that no NVIDIA user will ever turn off PhysX and reduce their image quality but we also appreciate that some of our readers have asked for NVIDIA comparisons with PhysX off… so here we have it.

Overall the 7950 is faster than the GTX 580 when both cards have PhysX off and the Sapphire card has no issues providing us with playable performance at 5760×1080 either. That said we do love the extra effects that the GTX 580 offers with PhysX on.

Here are examples of how the game looks at our tested settings.
