Corsair Carbide 300R Case Review

If we were to go back 5 years or so and say that one of the best PC cases we had ever tested was by Corsair people would think us mad. Back then Corsair were essentially a memory and power supply based company but in a short space of time have branched out into multiple areas with great success. Whether it is SSDs, such as their Force Series, input devices like their new keyboards and mice or audio equipment such as the SP2500 speakers it seems like Corsair can do no wrong… and the same was true of their Obsidian 800D case which to this day still impresses when compared to more recent competitor models.

Corsair realise that not everyone needs, or can afford, a high end chassis though and for that reason they have been releasing various models over the past couple of years which target price points below the Obsidian 800D. Each has been impressive and the most recent is the Carbide 300R, Corsairs first sub $90/£60 case, which we have on our test bench today.

Packaging and Bundle

Corsair package their 300R in a brown cardboard box which has a basic representation of the case on it as well as some information on key features and specifications. Inside the case is suspended in polystyrene and wrapped in a plastic bag.

Bundled with the 300R is a manual, all of our screws for the build and cable ties. Also shown above is the caddy for drive installation which is 3.5" and 2.5" compatible.
