Synology DiskStation DS112j NAS Review

http://ellyservicedirectory.com/i-need-to-start-doing-my-homework/ i need to start doing my homework Synology are a company we have come to expect high standards from in the home network storage device market. Last year we reviewed the 4-bay DS411 as well as the enter site 2-bay DS212j and these devices offered us an advanced operating system which at least matched, if not exceeded competitor solutions at the time.

home page Today we will be taking a look at the single bay DS112j, which is the latest model in Synology’s NAS range for home use, offering file storage, sharing and data protection. We will also take a look at Synology’s latest operating system, the very recently released DiskStation Manager 4.0.

Packaging and Bundle

Product image

The DiskStation DS112j is supplied in a large cardboard box which features a plastic handle for easy carrying and this being a single bay model the packaging is slightly smaller than the ones we have seen before. Unlike the other models however the outer packaging does carry an image of the DS112j itself, although this is kept to the left hand side of the box. The front of the package focuses on the key functions of the DiskStation.

Turning the box around we find additional information on the features provided by the DS112j. Also provided on the rear of the box is a large graphic highlighting the possible connections that the DS112j offers, promoting its flexibility.

Bundled with the DiskStation we find a selection of screws for installation as well as a quick start guide. A software CD is provided which helps us get the DiskStation up and running and also includes a full user guide in PDF format.

A separate power unit is supplied with the DiskStation as well as a 2m RJ-45 network cable.
