NZXT use a white Yate Loon fan for this PSU and it is a 12cm model (D12BH-12) with 7 blades and is a DC12V, 0.30A product with dual ball bearing design.

Looking inside the PSU we find that this is a PSU which stands out due to the use of white and black PCB, a first as far as our testing is concerned. Points of note about the general build quality are that the heatsinks are minimal, components are tied where necessary and parts secured by white adhesive for additional stability where needed.

As is normal for a high end PSU several features within the product combine to protect the PC components in the event of a fault developing. First up is Over/Under Voltage Protection which ensures that the 12, 5 and 3.3v outputs do not exceed a set level. Over-Current Protection works on the same outputs to ensure DC voltage remains within safe limits. Short-Circuit Protection which powers off the PSU should any of the 3.3v, 5v or 12v rails short any other rail or ground and of course the unit rounds the protection features off with Over Power Protection along with Over Temperature Protection.

In terms of key features we have a unit which has one 12v rated for 60A and mixed with this specification is an 80 Plus Bronze award which means it has passed certification of 81% efficiency at 20 and 100% with 50% load rated at over 85% (230V).

In terms of components used we find a couple of Japanese capacitors inside, branded Nippon and our primary capacitor is rated 450v 470uF rating. All are 105°C parts, rather than the cheaper 85°C alternative, though the majority are Chinese based rather than Japanese.

Finally it is worth noting that this PSU has auto switching between 100-240v, Active P.F.C and a 5-Year warranty.
