 Borderlands 2 Settings

Watch our video review of Borderlands 2 here.

We use Borderlands 2 as our PhysX test as it makes great use of the technology, especially cloth/particle effects which enhance the gameplay experience. When we set the game to use comparable settings between AMD and NVIDIA (PhysX Low @ 5760×1080) the GeForce GTX 690 card is very close in performance to the 7990. Enabling full PhysX has a small impact but we still retain an average framerate above 90fps from NVIDIAs dual GPU product. Titan too scores well, giving us completely smooth framerates at 5760×1080 with maximum detail and PhysX. Frametimes at 1920×1080 are issue free on NVIDIA with a couple of spikes on AMD. At 5760×1080 we see a single spike on NVIDIA (something which also occurred on GTX 690) and interestingly no issues on AMD.

Here are examples of how the game looks at our tested settings.
