We use Metro Last Light as our PhysX test, recently replacing Borderlands and at 1920×1080 with maximum detail the 770 runs the game without issue. In the comparison with 7970 we see the EVGA card match AMD when running PhysX, so more demanding workload. When we turn off the extra IQ , matching AMD, the NVIDIA card averages 5fps higher and continues to perform above the Radeon at 5760×1080 too.

Here is a video showing how PhysX impacts the game experience.

Here are examples of how the game looks at our tested settings.

  1. I won’t go into too much technical detail, but the GTX 770 is essentially a repackaged GTX680. As a layman that may sound like a bad thing, but it’s actually a good thing, since you are paying over one hundred less dollars to buy the 770
