GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 780 OC WindForce 3X Graphics Card Review

Conclusion and Rating

When we first looked at the GTX 780 one of the things which most impressed us about the design was the reference cooler. It offered low noise, decent thermals and looked great. So when designing their own coolers manufacturers like Gigabyte needed to be very careful not to make a less desirable alternative. Thankfully they have managed to achieve this and through the use of three quiet fans, a nice metal shroud, sticking to two slots and the use of plenty copper in the heatpipes we have a card which exceeds the performance of that reference model.

Add to that the decent, though not exceptional, overclock and we have a card which is very desirable. It handles all of the latest games with ease at 1920×1080 and maximum detail while more often than not also offering completely playable framerates at 5760×1080.

We were also pleased to see a nice overclocking tool from Gigabyte which adds value to the overall package, along with the free copy of Splinter Cell: Blacklist from NVIDIA (just be sure to patch it!).

An ideal card for playing all of the latest games, including Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Saints Row IV and Final Fantasy: A Realm Reborn at maximum detail.
