Nokia announces Lumia 1320 phablet

During its annual Nokia World Conference at Abu Dhabi, Nokia has unveiled its new Lumia 1320, a 6-inch 720p phablet that should make quite an impact in the mid-range segment with its US $339 ex. VAT price tag.

Based around a 6-inch 1280×720 IPS ClearBlack screen protected by Gorilla Glass 3 (that is 245ppi if you are counting) and powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 chipset with dual-core Krait 300 clocked at 1.7GHz and Adreno 305 GPU as well as 1GB of RAM, the Lumia 1320 will target Samsung’s Galaxy Mega lineup.

In order to keep the price down, Nokia had to cut some corners so the Lumia 1320 comes with 5-megapixel camera with single LED flash, auto-focus, image stabilization and PureView technology, 0.3-megapixel front one, Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11bng WiFi, HDMI with UHD video output, 8GB of built-in storage expandable via microSD card slot, 3400mAh battery with Qi-compatible wireless charging, and, of course, Windows Phone 8 GDR3 OS.

The precise dimensions are set at 164.25 x 85.9 x 9.79 mm and it weighs 220g, which is not that bad for a 6-incher with 3400mAh battery. It has 4G LTE and HSPA+ connectivity and will be available in orange, yellow, black and white color choices.

Nokia Lumia 1320 will first roll out in China and Vietnam early next year followed by other Asian markets, India and Europe. The best part of the Lumia 1320 is its US $339 ex. VAT price tag.
