YouTube is Upgrading to 60fps, introduces Fan Funding

Google announced two major improvements to YouTube, the world’s most popular online video portal. The first, hold your breath, is that YouTube is adding support for 60fps video (fireworks and crackers bursting in the background). There will be two options: 48fps and 60fps.

Also, YouTube has introduced Fan Funding, which can be simply described as a tip jar for fans to donate towards videos that they love.

Here’s your first taste of 60fps video on YouTube:

I’m using Firefox with Flash and it doesn’t play at 60fps.

Not that I am that fussed, can’t envisage a situation where I would really need 60fps when watching video, all it would do is increase my download amounts and I already download a shit ton of stuff. I would estimate 400GB or more a month.

For gaming 60fps is a must, for videos not so much.
