Apple has allowed a few journalists to visit a testing facility that was used before the iPhone 6’s launch. In testing facilities, Apple has examined thousands of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus units to see how they hold up under different forms of stress.
The company allowed journalists into the facility after reports began to come out claiming the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were bending during normal use.
Machines are used by Apple to twist units and make sure they will withstand the normal stressors encountered with daily use. Before the phones were released, Apple says it pulled 15,000 units for testing.
Less formal tests are also completed by Apple by having employees test drive new phones before release. With employees using the iPhones, Apple is able to find out if there are real-life scenarios where the units are not doing well.
