iOS 9 Can Temporarily Delete Apps When There’s No Room For Updates

The latest iOS 9 beta has been released to developers and it includes automatic app removals to make room for software updates. iOS 9 will prompt users to let the software automatically remove and then restore apps when a software update needs to be installed. This feature is probably included because Apple wants iOS 9 to be on older, smaller iPhones which may only have 16 GB of storage.

All of the app removals and restores are automatic, according to 9to5Mac. No data is lost when the apps are removed.

iOS 9 also takes up just 1.3 GB of space and developers have received a way to “thin” their apps to minimize their usage of space. Between all of these things, iOS 9 will be easily supported and used on smaller iPhones.
