Chillblast Fusion Yogsblast Ultimate – Review

Chillblast Fusion Yogsblast UltimateAnyone who’s spent time on YouTube will recognise the name of the Chillblast Fusion Yogsblast Ultimate. This system is the official PC of the Yogscast – the gaming group that’s gained millions of followers on YouTube, Twitter and Twitch.

view The Chillblast Fusion Yogsblast Ultimate is the same machine that the Yogscast team uses to create its award-winning YouTube videos and live-streams.

view It’s got the familiar logo on its glass side panels – and it even comes with an exclusive guide to creating your own content that’s already installed on the system.

Chillblast Fusion Yogsblast Ultimate – Components

This machine is designed for content creation, streaming and gaming, and those kinds of tasks require a certain kind of processor: a chip with loads of multi-threaded cores, solid single-core clock speed and good power efficiency.

go site Chillblast Fusion Yogsblast UltimateThat’s why Chillblast has chosen the AMD Ryzen 7 1800X for this machine. The Zen-powered chip has eight cores that can handle sixteen concurrent tasks, which is key for high-end creativity applications, and it’s clocked to 3.6GHz with a Boost peak of 4.1GHz. It’s powered by the Zen architecture, which dramatically reduced heat output when compared to previous AMD chips – so it’s easier to cool, too.

watch It’s not overclocked because Chillblast says the CPU still requires too much electricity, but that’s fine – single-core speed boosts are not vital to a content-creation PC. The quieter, cooler operation is certainly more worthwhile than the diminishing returns of an overclocked chip.

http://www.pretiradiatori.it/master-thesis-new-zealand/ The Ryzen processor in the Chillblast Fusion Yogsblast Ultimate still has plenty of ability, even though the headlines have been stolen by Intel Coffee Lake and AMD Threadripper since the 1800X debuted back in March. The Ryzen part remains good value, too: AMD’s Threadripper chips and Intel’s Core i9 parts may have more cores, but their prices run between £480 and nearly £900. The Ryzen 7 part’s sub-£400 price is far more palatable.

page Chillblast Fusion Yogsblast UltimateThe rest of the specification reflects this machine’s content-creation remit. It’s got 32GB of memory, which will only be saturated by high-end productivity software, and there’s lashings of storage: a 500GB Samsung 960 EVO is used as the boot drive, there’s a secondary 250GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD, and then two 3TB hard drives in RAID 1 that provide 2.72TB of formatted space with mirrored data protection.

http://alcbahamas.org/accounting-custom-term-papers/ There’s a Zotac-made GTX 1080 Ti inside the Chillblast Fusion Yogsblast Ultimate, which has the familiar 11GB of GDDR5 memory and 3,584 stream processors. It’s got a small overclock, too, from 1,480MHz to 1,506MHz.

can anyone write an essay for me The specification is rounded out by an MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon motherboard. It looks the part, with a black PCB and solid metal heatsinks, and it’s got the usual offering of high-end audio, beefed-up networking gear and RGB LEDs.

There’s a spare M.2 socket and several free SATA ports, two empty memory slots and several free PCI sockets. It uses the X370 chipset, which is AMD’s top Zen chipset. It doesn’t support memory at quite the same speed as Intel’s top chipsets, and it’s got fewer PCI lanes than Intel’s hardware, but those limits are not going to be a practical concern for anyone who buys this PC.

follow link The eight-core CPU, ample memory and storage and high-end graphics card mean that the Chillblast Fusion Yogsblast Ultimate won’t be found wanting in any area, but it’s going to be overkill for some – if you’re a keen gamer or a general-purpose computer user they you just won’t need this level of performance.

http://www.nissesfyrverkerier.se/community-hours-service-essay/ The Corsair Crystal 570X is a familiar and impressive case that’s appeared in other recent builds, like the Scan 3XS Carbon Fluid Extreme SLI and Chillblast’s own Fusion Halcyon.

see It’s easy to see why Britain’s best PC builders are relying on this enclosure. It’s got exceptional build quality because of its underlying metal skeleton, and all of its side panels are made from tough, tinted tempered glass that glows with illumination from RGB LEDs that are installed in the front-mounted case fans.

Behind the glass are plastic dust filters that show off a honeycomb pattern, and the roof has buttons to control the colour, speed and pattern of the machine’s lighting. By default, Chillblast has programmed its motherboard and case fan lighting with red LEDs that glow consistently.

Chillblast has done a great job on the inside. The Corsair Hydro cooler is installed in the roof with two 120mm fans and doesn’t get in the way, and the cables are neatly routed at the front and the rear of the system.

The tidy build, glass side panels and thumbscrew access mean it’s simple to reach every part of the Chillblast Fusion Yogsblast Ultimate, although there’s not much room to add storage. That’s a tiny complaint, though, especially in a machine that already has two SSDs and two hard disks.

Chillblast Fusion Yogsblast Ultimate – Performance

Chillblast Fusion Yogsblast UltimateThe eight-core processor has loads of power – easily enough for intensive content creation, streaming and productivity tools.

The Chillblast Fusion Yogsblast Ultimate’s Cinebench CPU result of 1,543cb is several hundred points ahead of machines with Core i7-7700K processors – about half-way between Intel’s consumer parts and AMD’s far more expensive Threadripper chips.

The Ryzen chip scored 17,170 in the Geekbench multi-threaded test, which is about level with i7-7700K machines, and only behind Threadripper and Core i9 when it comes to multi-threaded ability.

The 1800X is a little more ordinary when it comes to single-threaded pace, though: its Geekbench single-core score of 3,713 is a few hundred points behind quad-core Intel and AMD desktop chips. That’s to be expected, as they have higher single-core speeds. There’s also still enough power here to handle the relatively low-end applications that benefit from single-core performance.

Still, that’s an excellent set of results. There’s ample power for multi-tasking and multi-threaded applications, and the only machines that are able to outpace the Chillblast are the £3,469 CyberPower Ultra Threadripper Xtreme and £4,950 Scan 3XS Carbon Fluid Extreme SLI.

The main Samsung 960 EVO SSD delivered read and write speeds of 3,026MB/s and 1,700MB/s, which are superb – and the secondary 850 EVO drive ran at 549MB/s and 525MB/s. Even the RAID 1 array is rapid, with its read and write speeds of 201MB/s and 199MB/s impressive for a hard disk.

That’s not just plenty of storage cChillblast Fusion Yogsblast Ultimateapacity – it’s loads of speed, too. That’s important for rapid boots and fast gaming and application loading times.

The GTX 1080 Ti is a familiar and powerful card. It zipped through our 1080p benchmarks with averages beyond 100fps in all five games, and its poorest average at 1440p was a still-stellar 93fps.

It’s a chip designed for 4K, and it ran well in those tests. Its weakest performance was a 36fps minimum score in Fallout 4, and that’s still absolutely fine for smooth gameplay. The GPU then motored through Battlefield 1 with a 75fps minimum.

This card will play anything at 4K, and it’ll also handle widescreen panels and 4K headsets with equal aplomb. Importantly, there’s also enough power to run video editing tools, streaming services and other applications that need plenty of GPU ability.

They’re good results, but we wish that Chillblast had opted for a larger card than Zotac’s miniature model for the Chillblast Fusion Yogsblast Ultimate – a chunkier GPU may have had a bigger overclock.

There’s loads of power in this rig, and Chillblast’s design kept the noise down too. This machine never pumped out more than a modest rumble, even during tough tests – a better bill of health than many high-end rigs. The CPU and GPU temperatures of 62°C and 83°C are fine too.

Chillblast Fusion Yogsblast UltimateChillblast Fusion Yogsblast Ultimate – Conclusion

The Chillblast Fusion Yogsblast Ultimate is designed for content creation, and the specification is superb: the eight-core Ryzen chip has enough cores to handle tough, multi-threaded applications, there’s loads of memory, and the extensive storage offers both speed and versatility.

The graphics card has the power for intensive applications, streaming and gaming, and the motherboard is fully-featured.

It’s certainly cheaper than machines with AMD Threadripper and Intel Core i9 processors, but it’s not exactly an affordable desktop – and unless you really will be doing content creation, this kind of hardware is overkill.

If you’d like to follow the Yogscast team onto YouTube and Twitch, though, then the Chillblast Fusion Yogsblast Ultimate is a fantastic way to start.

The Chillblast is available at this link for £2,850. Fancy a new rig for a new career on YouTube? Tell us what you’re planning on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
