2x AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT = +93% ?

2x AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT = +93% ?

Officially, crossfire configurations are a thing of the past. Today, the economic choice no longer seems relevant and above all the lack of support from publishers has clearly “plagued” these solutions. However, at TweakTown , we are nostalgic. The idea was therefore pushed to do some tests using two AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT to see if this nostalgia, beyond the technical experience, still has interest. RX 6800XT x2

Already, you have to find the 2 AMD Radeon RX 6800XT cards 😉

So obviously, in the current times where finding a card is already a competitive sport, putting two cards together can look like a provocation that only a privileged few can afford. The choice was made to test with four games in three different resolutions. The choice of these games is not insignificant either: they are strongly based on technologies favorable to AMD. The results obtained here are therefore in the most ideal and favorable conditions for AMD GPUs. To sum up, the most important performance gains are recorded in 4K, with a 57% performance improvement on Deus Ex Mankind Divided. This comes to almost 93% in Strange Brigade. Paradoxically, with a 2K resolution, Deus Ex Mankind Divided seems 5% slower, while the Sniper Elite 4 in the same resolution benefits from a performance improvement of up to 93%. Strange Brigade flies away with a 66% gain. The gains on Rise of the Tomb Raider are also particularly interesting.

In short, all this is perplexing because we understand that, with the support of the development teams, the use of the mGPU could allow us to go further and offer enthusiasts the possibility to upgrade or play in higher resolutions.
