The Kindle Fire HD 7"

Kindle Fire HD front
The Kindle Fire HD is shown above and is a 7" form factor device measuring 193x137x10.3mm with weight hitting 395g. On the front we find a 1280×800 HD display (IPS/TFT) with 216ppi and a black bezel surrounds this.

Above the screen we find a 1.3mp front facing camera which can be used for video chat.

Kindle Fire HD rear

Turning the tablet around we find a soft touch coating on the back with a plastic bar which runs along the centre. At each end of this are speaker grills, an indicator of the stereo speakers (Dolby Digital Plus).

Then along the bottom edge when we hold the device in landscape are the HDMI connector and a micro-USB charge/data port.
