AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution coming soon?

Unlike NVIDIA DLSS technology, which is used at the very end of the graphics pipeline, the AMD FSR solution would be engaged much earlier. This technology would therefore require less work from game developers and no AI training. This would greatly accelerate the adoption and implementation of the technology…A reason for it to come sooner?

FidelityFX Super Resolution, AMD’s answer to DLSS

Coreteks claims that AMD FSR has already been distributed to game developers who have been able to conduct several implementation tests. This one should be launched very soon, a priori in June. This statement is quite surprising, remember that in March this year, Scott Herkelman (CVP and general manager at AMD Radeon) said that AMD would launch the FSR in 2021, without any specific date. The more optimistic ones were hoping for the end of the year but certainly not June.

While AMD is talking about FidelityFX Super Resolution, Nvidia is rolling out…

AMD FSR is officially part of the FidelityFX toolkit, which means it will be officially supported by AMD GPUs. Yet Coreteks claims that FSR would be compatible with NVIDIA GPUs, which might seem surprising if we forget that the technology should rely heavily on Microsoft tools. Obviously, support for this technology within Windows does not mean that AMD has not specifically designed its GPUs to take full advantage of this technology.

Anyway, no concrete data has been leaked for the moment to give us an idea of performance compared to DLSS. Because at the same time Nvidia continues to advance and extend its technology
