AMD : launch of Ryzen 5700G and 5600G on desktop

While the last APU 4000, were only intended for OEMs, AMD launches today at computex its new APU 5000 for the general public.

Launched a month ago for the OEM market, the Cezanne APUs using the Zen 3 architecture will now arrive on the consumer market, thus answering a significant demand in the high performance APU sector. AMD Cezanne DIY

Two of the three existing models will be available for sale (not the 5300G, which would still be exclusive to OEMs): The Ryzen 7 5700G: with 8 cores and 16 threads, boosting up to 4.6 Ghz is equipped with a vega iGPU with 8 CU clocked at 2.0 GHz, all contained in a TDP of 65 w. Available on August 5th for 359$ The Ryzen 5 5600G: with 6 cores and 12 threads, boosting up to 4.4 Ghz and equipped with a vega iGPU with 7 CU clocked at 1.9 GHz, all contained in a TDP of 65W. Available on August 5th for 259$.

This new generation of APU will allow AMD to offer higher performance than Intel’s Rocket Lake, both in terms of processor and graphics. Given the problems of availability of graphics cards, these APUs could be more successful than the previous generation. However, we will have to make sure that these new references are actually available.
