AMD: the next Genoa processors with 96 cores

After pushing the number of cores to 64 with Rome/Milan, AMD would go one step further with a 96-core processor for the Genoa generation.

96 cores, DDR5 and PCIE 5.0 for Genoa

Here’s a big piece of information, shared by the twittos ExecutableFix AMD’s Next Generation Server Processor News: News about AMD’s next generation of server processors: Genoa. Based on the Zen 4 architecture, they would be equipped with a maximum of 96 cores and 192 thread against 64 currently for Milan, all accompanied by the DDR5-5200 with 12 channels and 128 PCIE 5.0 lines (with the possibility to go up to 160 lines in dual socket version).

However, there would be no increase in CCDs with up to 8 cores, but an increase in chiplets from 8 to 12 thanks to a finer etching at 5 nm (an increase that could also appear on the Ryzen 6000?). All this will take place on a new socket, going from SP4 with 4096 pin to SP5 with 6096 pin. The TDP will also increase, rising to 320W, with a cTDP at 400W. This generation will directly confront the Sapphire Rapids of Intel, engraved in 10nm Enhanced SuperFin and using the Golden Cove architecture, which will have the same : DDR5, PCIE 5.0, chiplet.. But with a maximum of 56 hearts.
