AMD to release new Ryzen 5800 and 5900

AMD is expected to launch at least two new Ryzen 5000 processors very soon, but don’t get too excited, these new CPUs will be reserved for OEMs as was already the case for some older generation references.

Ryzen 7 5800 and Ryzen 9 5900 for OEMs

The two new processors that will arrive on January (normally) are the Ryzen 7 5800 and the Ryzen 9 5900. These two CPUs are alternative versions of their “X” counterparts with identical numbers of cores (eight and twelve, respectively), but with lower TDPs, logically set at 65 W and probably reduced clock speeds. We find the same configuration as we had, for example, with the excellent Ryzen 9 3900.

In January in our PCs…or not?

These two chips are only intended for large PC assemblers, which means you won’t be able to buy them directly from a retailer…At least not as easily as a “classic” version ( We agree that it is particularly paradoxical to use the term “buy easily” these days ). These processors should therefore be found on the PCs of certain brands and allow OEMS to offer competitive machines because the price of these two references should be substantially lower than the X versions. The problem will again be availability. Reserving these CPUs for integrators is a good idea to spread this new generation. Nevertheless, they should be available because at this moment, it is difficult to find a machine of brand name pre-mounted in Ryzen 5000. Ryzen 5800 et 5900
