OCC_FrTeam February 18, 2021 News An RTX 3080 Fanless in a 100% Fanless PC The passive housing manufacturer Turemetal wanted to demonstrate the effectiveness of its baby. The particularity of its chassis is to be entirely made of aluminum and with a multitude of heat pipes. These heat pipes are “connected” to the overall body of the box which then works a little bit like an aluminum radiator. For the demonstration of its high-end model, the UP10, the machine was composed of an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X and a GeForce RTX 3080…fanless of course. Until now, this chassis has been used with cards with a TDP of less than 100W, such as the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or GTX 1650 Ti. Therefore, some concessions had to be made in order to make the RTX 3080 work. Its frequency was limited to 1575 MHz. An ASUS RTX 3080 TUF Gaming ASUS was used as a basis. In the applied stress tests, the overall power consumption of the system rose to 410W (including 347W for the GPU alone). At the end of a FurMArk session, the temperature of the GPU is raised to 87°c. However, this temperature remains below the high temperature limit of the GPU (91°C). Share On
